OUR APPROACH
A guide, with its work shown.
Who makes this directory
This is a BrightEng project for people choosing tools and completing practical tasks. The product name is still undecided. Questions and corrections can be sent through our contact form.
Review coverage
Of 92 current catalog entries, 0 have a recorded editorial review. This count is not a security audit or hands-on test count. Working utilities are checked separately with automated cases and browser interactions; those checks do not verify third-party products.
What a review means
New submissions are private drafts. Before publishing, an editor must confirm a human review, record official evidence URLs and describe what was checked. Existing launch entries remain labeled when review is missing. A review covers its recorded claims and date; provider terms and capabilities can change afterward.
Start with the job
A capability is useful in context. We describe who it fits, where it falls short, and a practical next step. The directory brings software, AI models, MCP servers, skills, and workflows into one decision process.
Show the evidence
An official link is a starting point, not an audit. Source availability checks, editorial verification, and security audits are separate states. Dates are shown only when an actual check is recorded.
Keep money out of rankings
Paid review buys editorial work, never guaranteed approval or a ranking position. Sponsored placements must be labeled. First-party utilities and recipes are identified separately.
Compare honestly
A model score needs an exact version, prompt set, method, date, token usage, latency, and cost. Without that evidence, the comparison shows “Not tested.”
Make corrections easy
Every listing has a report and correction flow. Submissions and source changes enter an editor’s queue before publication. Corrections need no account. A receipt confirms storage, not acceptance of the claim or a guaranteed response time.
