CSV ↔ JSON converter

Turn tables into JSON objects, or flat JSON records into a CSV.

CSV needs unique, nonempty headers. JSON needs an array of flat objects. Formula-like cells are escaped when exporting CSV.
Your input stays on this device. Only the utility name is counted for usage; the contents are never sent to our server.

How to use this converter

Move a small table between a spreadsheet-style export and an API-friendly record list. The CSV header becomes the JSON property names. Values imported from CSV remain strings, so leading zeroes are preserved.

  1. Choose CSV → JSON or JSON → CSV.
  2. Paste your table or records, or open a text file up to 1 MB.
  3. Select Run utility and review the result. Copy it or use Download to save the matching file format.

A small example

CSV → JSON

Input

name,code
Ada,001

Output

[
  {
    "name": "Ada",
    "code": "001"
  }
]

What to check before using the result

  • CSV needs unique, nonempty headers and the same number of cells in every row. Empty rows are skipped; malformed quotes produce an error.
  • JSON input must be a nonempty array of flat objects. Nested objects and arrays are rejected. Missing properties become empty cells.
  • JSON-to-CSV export prefixes formula-like cells with an apostrophe for spreadsheet safety. Nulls and missing fields can both become empty cells, so a round trip is not lossless.

Continue your task

  • CSV cleanup — Trim cells and remove duplicate rows before converting.
  • JSON tidy — Check and format JSON before conversion.
